Hargrett Library Rare Map Collection- Over 500 years worth of maps depicting the United States; focusing mostly in and around Georgia.

Africana Heritage- "Our mission is to rediscover precious records that document the names and lives of former slaves, freedpersons and their descendants, and share those records on this free Internet site."

LSU's Louisiana and Lower Mississippi Valley Collection- "The Louisiana and Lower Mississippi Valley Collections (LLMVC) documents the history and culture of this region. The largest accumulation of materials on Louisiana and the lower Mississippi Valley in existence, LLMVC includes a comprehensive collection of books, periodicals, maps, prints, pamphlets, Louisiana state documents, and microfilm of Louisiana newspapers."

Documenting the American South- "Documenting the American South (DocSouth) is a digital publishing initiative that provides Internet access to texts, images, and audio files related to southern history, literature, and culture. Currently DocSouth includes ten thematic collections of books, diaries, posters, artifacts, letters, oral history interviews, and songs."

Civil War

Civil War-era Newspaper Transcriptions- "The following files of transcribed articles from Civil War era newspapers are predominantly from the South, and focus on the homefront, including women, Confederate industry, and material culture. The scattered military articles usually relate either to camp life or to Texas units or events. These articles do NOT include foreign affairs, politics, monetary policy, or general battle accounts. All were gathered in the course of researching various topics of personal interest and do not reflect any systematized indexing."
